The Sophomores of 1921 have endeavored throughout the year to cooperate with the school in raising the standard of the Friend High School. We have been well represented in all the school's activities and our members have displayed unusual talent.

Many of our number are represented in the different divisions of the music department. Loretta Hoefer is pianist, and Rose McAlpin, cornetist, in the high school orchestra. Claude Johnson is the skillful and energetic drummer in the boys' orchestra. Loretta Hoefer is drummer, and Ellen Campbell, xylophonist, in the Home Town Entertainers Company which played at the Girls' Program and at several convocations. Nonearl Jewitt sings soprano in the Girls' Quartette, which organization deserves special mention this year.

Hugh Joyce is a member of the Boys' Glee Club and is deserving of much praise as he is one of our best singers.

In dramatics we have shown ability also. Loretta Hoefer took one of the leading parts in the farce given in the Girls' Program, February 7. In the same farce, Margaret Gill and Winifred Newcomb did creditable work.

Charles Wisroth and George Humphrey are on the debating team which defeated Western this year.

We have also contributed our quota to athletics. Harold Bangs and Claude Johnson are on the first basketball team, and Harold Bangs and Melvin Samuelson were members of the football team. Last, but not least, we would mention the members of our class who helped make the girls' basketball team a success, Margaret Gill and Nonearl Jewitt.

Hugh Joyce is the class artist and Mable Heinzman and Charles Wisroth are the class poets. Thus, have the Sophomores established for themselves an enviable reputation in the Senior High School.
